Local developer and Hollins Market resident Venroy July is building on his investment in Southwest Baltimore. After having acquired and renovated 6 rowhomes on the unit block of South Schroeder Street and later rehabbing nearly the full 1000 block of West Baltimore Street, July is ready to take on his next challenge just a few blocks away.
After acquiring the historic building at 1339 West Baltimore Street in August 2024 with NIIF financing, he is now undertaking predevelopment activities in order to rehabilitate and reposition the building as a mixed-use project. July is considering several concepts for the space including a smaller grocery store, restaurant, and makerspace. His project will build on not only his own prior investments, but also on the momentum created by several ongoing developments including the BioPark expansion and Women’s Home Preservation’s Madikizela and Ford Building projects, among others.
The property was originally a showroom and retail store for the Littlepage’s Furniture company, but has sat vacant since the company closed in 2019. July hopes to restore this building as a focal point of the community after the anticipated $1.2m rehabilitation project is complete.
NIIF was proud to support this project with a $470,000 acquisition loan and to build on our other investments on West Baltimore Street.
